2014 marked the Tercentenary of St. Anne’s Church
Celebrate300 is the name that we have given to the events and projects that have commemorated our tercentenary year in 2014.
Three celebrate300 fabric projects have marked our tercentenary year as an inspiring time to have been associated with St. Anne’s
• The new font carved in Portland Stone.
• The altar frontals – embroidered by 20 local volunteers, led by Daphne Jowit and supervised by Amanda Ewing of the Royal School of Needlework, who are assembling them at their workshop in Hampton Court Palace.
Sue Mason FLS guides us through the exciting design, steeped in symbolism, of the new font and brings the intricate details and liturgical references of the magnificent altar frontals to life.
The third project, work on the chancel to restore the 1906 colour scheme designed by Ninian Comper, can be seen in these excellent views by Tony Vince
