Week 3. Three projects to help our neighbours in Southwark Diocese, one in each Episcopal area. In Kingston, Christian Care is a remarkable charity that developed through Churches Together in Merton Park. Sixty volunteers from 18 churches in the area help 175 families living in poverty through five inter-related projects. In Croydon, the Sutton Women’s Centre provides a safe space to help any woman in the borough experiencing problems arising from domestic violence. In Woolwich, the Salmon Youth Centre welcomes about 500 young people aged 6 to 25 every week in 35 different sessions including adventure, arts, dance drama, music and sports. Our giving will help all these projects, which are largely or totally dependent on volunteers, to continue helping an increasing number of people in need.
